Mini-Biography:
Born on May 7, 1976, in Cascais, Portugal, Mariana van Zeller is the executive producer and host of National Geographic’s “Trafficked with Mariana van Zeller.” After beginning her journalism career in Portugal, she moved to New York. A month later, the September 11 attacks happened, and she found herself anchoring for SIC Notícias, the Portuguese television channel. Her early career saw her freelancing from the Middle East for outlets like PBS’s “Frontline/World,” followed by significant roles at Current TV’s “Vanguard” and Fusion. She is known for her fearless exploration of black markets and illegal trades around the globe.
