SIDEWALKS east coast correspondent Darren Paltrowitz talks to Carra Patterson, Anthony Ruivivar, and Brandon Jay McLaren about playing law enforcement officers in TV’s “Turner and Hooch,” working with Hooch and animal co-stars, and they favorite Reginald VelJohnson’s (who plays Mayor Sutton on the series) cop role.

Mini-Biographies:
Carra Patterson is an actress and producer. She played Shaun in “The Arrangement,” Tomica in “Straight Outta Compton,” Calpurnia in “Ambition’s Debt,” and Kelly in “Why Did I Get Married Too?” Patterson has guest starred in “The Good Wife,” “Elementary,” “Prodigal Son,” and “Lovecraft Country.” She produced the short film, “The Mark.” On the TV version of “Turner & Hooch,” Patterson plays Jessica Baxter, Scott’s (Josh Peck) partner.


Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Brandon Jay McLaren is an actor, who became known for playing Jack Landors / Red SPD Ranger in “Power Rangers S.P.D.” Along with main TV roles in “Slasher,” “Graceland,” and “Ransom,” he also appeared in TV series “Being Erica,” “Falling Skies,” “Harper’s Island,” “Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce,” “UnREAL,” and “Firefly Lane.” Some of his films are “Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed,” “She’s the Man,” “Dr. Dolittle: Million Dollar Mutts,” “Tucker & Dale vs Evil,” and “Dead Before Dawn.” On “Turner and Hooch,” McLaren plays Xavier Watkins, a marine-turned-US Marshal.


Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, Anthony Ruivivar is known for playing law enforcement characters on TV and movies. He played Carlos Nieto on NBC’s “Third Watch,” Alejo Salazar in ABC’s “The Whole Truth,” Alex Longshadow in Cinemax’s “Banshe,” Sheriff Miguel Acosta on Fox’s “Scream,” and Captain Stan Moreno in The CW’s “Frequency.” In voice work, Ruivivar is the voices of Bruce Wayne / Batman and Thomas Wayne in Cartoon Network’s “Beware the Batman” and Nighthawk in Disney XD’s “Avengers Assemble.” Some of his films he was in include “White Fang 2,” “Starship Troopers,” “Tropic Thunder,” “The Adjustment Bureau,” and “Larry Gaye: Renegade Male Flight Attendant.” On TV’s “Turner & Hooch,” Ruivivar stars as James Mendez, a US Marshal Chief and Scott’s boss.
