SIDEWALKS host Lori Rosales talks to actors Josh Hopkins and Patrick Scott McDermott, who star together in the Western film “Rust.” Along with speaking to us about the Alec Baldwin-led film, Josh tells us about his time on “Cougar Town” and Patrick on working as a teen actor.

Mini-Biography:

Born on September 12, 1970, in Lexington, Kentucky, Josh Hopkins plays Wood Helm in “Rust.” He is best known for his roles in television series such as comedy “Cougar Town” as Bobby Cobb and drama “Quantico” as Liam O’Connor. His other main cast roles includes “New York Undercover,” “Ally McBeal,” “Pepper Dennis,” “Swingtown,” and “Whiskey Cavalier,” as well as recurring roles in “Jack & Jill,” “Cold Case,” “Vanished,” “Brothers and Sisters,” “Private Practice,” and “True Detective.” In feature films, Hopkins was seen in “G.I. Jane,” “Love & Sex,” “The Perfect Storm,” “Lebanon, PA,” “Get On Up,” “The Opposite Sex,” “Car Dogs,” and “Crown Vic.”

Patrick Scott McDermott portrays Lucas Hollister, Rust’s (Alec Baldwin) grandson, in “Rust,” which is his feature film debut. He started his professional journey in the Chicagoland region, showcasing his talent on local stages before embarking on a national tour portraying Gavroche in the National Tour of “Les Miserables.” McDermott was subsequently selected for the Broadway production of “Flying Over Sunset,” participated in “The Hours” at the Metropolitan Opera, and played the role of Young Charlie in “Kinky Boots” at the Hollywood Bowl. On TV, he was seen in “Saturday Night Live,” “Chicago Med,” “FBI” and on Hulu’s / Disney+’s “Goosebumps” season 2 as Stink. McDermott is currently in the ensemble and a swing in “Stranger Things: The First Shadow” on Broadway.
