Mini-Biography:
Stan Herd is a world-renowned crop artist, who produces large-scale pieces of art using the Earth as his canvas. Doing his creations for over 30 years, Stan calls the designs, “Earthworks.”

Some of Stan’s work include portraits of Kiowa War Chief Satanta, Will Rogers, and 19th-century Cuban poet José Martí. In the mid-90’s, an independent film by Chris Ordal called “Earthwork,” starring actor John Hawkes playing the younger Herd, was the subject of his work and his Countryside design, which was an image of a Kansas landscape on an acre of property owned by Donald Trump in New York City.

Stan’s art has been featured on CBS’s “Sunday Morning,” NPR’s “All Things Considered” and “What Do You Think?,” “Dateline NBC,” NBC’s “Late Night with David Letterman,” and “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” as well as publications in The Wall Street Journal, Smithsonian Magazine, The New York Times, The New Look of Paris and The London Telegraph.

A book about his earthworks, “Crop Art and Other Earthworks,” details Stan’s artistic journey through stunning pictures and stories.
