Interviewed at WonderCon, host Richard R. Lee talked to Lindsay about getting into acting, playing The Bionic Woman Jamie Sommers, and what she is doing today outside of acting.
Born in Los Angeles, California, actress Lindsay Wagner is best known as Jaime Sommers, “The Bionic Woman,” originally from the TV series “Six Million Dollar Man,” her own spinoff series, and later three Bionic tele-movies with Lee Majors. She was awarded an Emmy Award® for “Best Actress in a Dramatic Role” as Jamie in 1977. She started her career off as a model, but acting became Wagner’s calling. She guest-starred in such series as “Adam-12,” “Marcus Welby, M.D.” and “The Rockford Files.” She has appeared in feature films like “Two People,” “The Paper Chase,” “Nighthawks,” and Ricochet,” but TV-movies and miniseries have been her mainstay, including “Scruples,” “The Two Worlds of Jennie Logan,” “Thicker than Water,” “Buckaroo: The Movie,” and “Four Extraordinary Women.” After “The Bionic Woman” ended, Wagner started in two short-lived series, “Jessie” and “A Peaceable Kingdom.” Recently, she was a guest star on “Warehouse 13.” Lately, Wagner has been giving seminars and workshops for her self-help therapy, Quiet the Mind & Open the Heart, that promotes spirituality and meditation.
