SIDEWALKS host Lori Rosales interviews the stars of CMT’s “Sun Records.” Drake Milligan (plays Elvis Presley) and Billy Gardell (Colonel Tom Parker) talk about making the ambitious series, whether Milligan performs the vocals for Elvis and Gardell moving to drama after years of doing the “Mike and Molly” sitcom.
Born in Swissvale, Pennsylvania, Billy Gardell is best known as Chicago police officer Mike Biggs on the hit comedy, “Mike & Molly.” Along with a starring role in the short-lived “Lucky,” he had recurring roles in “My Name Is Earl,” “Yes, Dear,” “The Practice,” “Judging Amy,” “Heist,” and “Sullivan & Son.” In films, Gardell appeared in “Bad Santa,” “You, Me and Dupree,” “Dragon Wars: D-War,” and “Jersey Boys.” He also voiced Santa in “Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas.”
A newcomer in the business, Drake Milligan started out performing in small theatrical productions. His first role was in a short film called “Nobody,” in which he played a young Elvis in high school.
