SIDEWALKS host Lori Rosales has an interview with bariatric surgeon and TV personality Doctor Charles Procter (“1000-LB Sisters,” “1000-LB Best Friends”), who talks about his career, the impact of his work on patients’ lives, and his TLC series “Dangerously Obese.”

Mini-Biography:

Dr. Charles Procter Jr. is a bariatric surgeon, TV personality, and currently is featured on TLC’s “Dangerously Obese.” He is recognized for minimally-invasive techniques and robotic-assisted surgical practices, particularly in bariatric procedures such as sleeve gastrectomy, Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, and duodenal switch. Dr. Procter, who is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and holds the titles of Fellow in both the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, is one of the founding members of Beltline Health, also known as Beltline Bariatric and Surgical Group, which he established in 2016. As a TV personality, the doctor is known for reality programs, including TLC’s “Family By the Ton,” “1000-lb Sisters,” “Too Large,” and “1000-lb Best Friends,” where he assists morbidly obese individuals in their weight loss endeavors. Currently, Dr. Procter serves as the Medical Director of Bariatric Surgery at Northside Hospital Atlanta.
