Mini-Biography:
Born on October 10, 1967, in Los Angeles, California, Morgan Neville is a highly acclaimed filmmaker and producer whose career has focused on documenting the lives of influential cultural and musical figures. After transitioning from journalism in the 1990s and founding Tremolo Productions, he achieved significant industry recognition, most notably winning the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature and a Grammy Award for Best Music Film for his 2013 film “20 Feet from Stardom.” He also won an Emmy Award (specifically the News & Documentary Emmy for Best Historical Documentary) for “Best of Enemies” (2015), which detailed the televised debates between Gore Vidal and William F. Buckley. His filmography includes directing the record-breaking Fred Rogers documentary “Won’t You Be My Neighbor? “(2018), which won an Independent Spirit Award, as well as “Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain” (2021) and the LEGO-animated Pharrell Williams biography “Piece by Piece” (2024). In addition to his directing, Neville has served as a producer on major projects such as Taylor Swift’s “Miss Americana,” and acclaimed docuseries like “Ugly Delicious” and “Abstract: The Art of Design,” and the 2026 Paul McCartney documentary “Man on the Run.”
