She won the first-ever Canada's Screen Star Award at the inaugural Canadian Screen Awards. Marshall began her acting career in television commercials and then guest roles in various TV shows, including "Twice in a Lifetime," "Doc," "Monk," "Dark Oracle," and TV-movie "The Elizabeth Smart Story." She also appeared in feature film "Resident Evil: Apocalypse" and the Hallmark movie "My Christmas Guide." During the breaks between filming seasons of "Heartland, Marshall contributes her time at a veterinary clinic and has volunteered at a Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre, where she participated in raptor classes to gain experience working with falcons and hawks.
