Mini-Biography:
Born on August 20, 1992, in Lynn, Massachusetts, Alex Newell plays Stephanie’s (Anna Kendrick) assistant Vicky in the Prime Video movie, “Another Simple Favor.” First appearing as a contestant on “The Glee Project,” Newell is known for playing Unique Adams on Fox’s “Glee.” Following “Glee,” Newell starred as Mo on the NBC series, “Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist,” and follow-up reunion film, “Zoey’s Extraordinary Christmas,” on The Roku Channel. Newell won the 2023 Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for “Shucked.” Additionally, Newell starred as Asaka in the Broadway revival of “Once on This Island” at the Circle in the Square Theatre in 2018.
