Interviewed by host Cindy Rhodes, James talks about
his old series Dawson's Creek, his recent
recurring role on Mercy, what kind of
roles he likes to play, and being a daddy for the
first time. As part of the promotional
tour, James tells us about Voices of UC, a program
to help create greater visibility to ulcerative
colitis (UC), which is a disease that significantly
limits people’s ability to engage in physical and
social activities.
Mini-Biography
Born in Cheshire, Connecticut, actor James Van
Der Beek became a household name starring as
Dawson Leary on Dawson's Creek (1998 - 2003).
In 1999, he starred in the box-office hit, "Varsity
Blues." His other movies include "The Rules of
Attraction," "Standing Still," "The Plague,"
"Harvest," "Texas Rangers," "Danny Roane: First Time
Director," "Final Draft," "Angus," "I Love You, I
Love You Not, " "The Big Bang," "Stolen," "The Boy
in the Box," and "Formosa Betrayed."
He had recurring roles on Mercy, One Tree
Hill, and As The World Turns. He has
guest-starred in popular television series like
How I Met Your Mother, Criminal Minds,
Clarissa Explains It All, Ugly Betty, and
Medium.
