R&B singer wants viewers
to volunteer and help victims of Katrina
Born
in Chattanooga, Tennessee, the multi-talented
Usher is a five-time Grammy® award-winning
performer. Besides being a singer/dancer, Usher
also starred as Billy Flynn in the Broadway
musical "Chicago" in 2006. He has appeared in
movies and TV, including "In the Mix," "She's
All That," "The Ballad of Walter Holmes,"
Moesha and The Bold and the
Beautiful.
In
this 2006 interview with Sidewalks host
Cindy Rhodes, Usher talks briefly about his
musical career, as well as his request for
viewers to help the victims of Hurricane
Katrina and Rita by volunteering and donating funds.*
Usher's New Look* non-profit organization
has launched Project Restart, a national
collaborative initiative to help 1,000 families
resettle into housing or return to their
communities. Additionally, Armani Exchange*
has partnered with Usher's New Look to design a
limited edition Dog Tag to support Usher's
hurricane relief campaign. All proceeds from the
sales of the dog tags will go 100% to charity.
