volleyball, having stardom, and her skin cares tip on a new

Mini-Biography
Dubbed as “one of the 20 Most Influential Women in
Sports” by “Women’s Sport and Fitness” Magazine and
“one of the world’s sexiest athletes” by “ESPN”,
Gabrielle Reece skyrocketed to fame in the 90s
as the most famous volleyball player in the world.
Born in California and raised on St. Thomas in the
Virgin Islands and St. Petersburg, Florida,
Gabrielle attended Florida State University where
she shattered volleyball records and was lauded by
“Elle” Magazine “one of the first most beautiful
women in the world,” eventually being inducted in
FSU’s Athletic Hall of Fame. Having graced the
covers of such prestigious magazines as “Sports
Illustrated for Women," “Women’s Sports and
Fitness,” “Travel and Leisure Golf,” “Outside,”
“Elle,” “Shape,” “Self,” “Harpers’ Bazaar,”
“Volleyball,” “Vogue,” “Fitness,” “Life,” and
“People.”
A Women’s Beach Volleyball League star whose team
took first place at the first-ever Beach Volleyball
World Championships in 1997, Gabrielle competed
again in professional volleyball in the summer of
2007 when she was five months pregnant as a way of
inspiring women to stay in shape during their
pregnancy.
Hosting her own health and fitness videos “Bell
Express 15” Workout Kits and “Gabrielle Reece Fit
and Healthy Prenatal Workouts” DVDs, Gabrielle’s
fitness tips have also been found in the pages of
“Shape” Magazine where she was a monthly
contributing editor and also on “InsiderTraining” on
“FitTV”/”Discovery” where she went behind-the-scenes
to give an insider look at professional athletes’
exercise regimens and what they eat. The co-author
of a book about her life as a professional athlete
entitled “Big Girl in the Middle,” Gabrielle is also
a former columnist for “Women’s Sports and Fitness”
and a former contributing editor to “Elle.”
In addition, Gabrielle was a featured host every
year on “ESPN” and “Gravity Games” as well as “MTV
Sports” and “The Extremists with Gabrielle Reece”
and was a commentator at the 1998 Goodwill Games.
Married to professional surfer Laird Hamilton,
Gabrielle has also graced the silver screen as a
physical trainer in “Gattica,” a professional
volleyball player in “Cloud Nine,” and a guest star
in “North Shore.”
