All Hail the Queen!
She's a musician, television and film actress, a
label president, an author, and entrepreneur. Queen
Latifah has blossomed into a one woman entertainment
conglomerate.
In 1989, Latifah signed with Tommy Boy Records
and released her first album, "All Hail the Queen."
From 1993 to 1998, she starred in the Fox sitcom
Living Single.
Latifah has appeared in many films, including
"House Party 2," "Juice," "Set It Off," "Beauty
Shop," "Taxi," and "Bringing Down the House." She
received rave reviews, an Oscar® nomination for Best
Supporting Actress, a Golden Globe nomination and a
SAG Award nomination for her portrayal as Mama
Morton in "Chicago." In 2007, she co-starred in
"Hairspray" as Motormouth Maybelle.
On January 4, 2006, Queen Latifah became the
first hip hop artist to be crowned with a star on
the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
