Another Petty comes to `Sidewalks`
Born in Randleman, North Carolina, racing superstar
Kyle Petty is part of the famous family in
NASCAR® history.
He is the son of NASCAR legend
Richard Petty
and grandson of NASCAR legend Lee Petty.
Racing since he was young, Kyle made his
major-league stock car debut at the age of 18.
Kyle is very active in charitable causes, include
founding Kyle Petty's Charity Ride Across America,
the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Boy Scouts of
America, and the Racing Wives Auxiliary.
In 2000, the Petty family was named "persons of the
year" by NASCAR Illustrated, for their charitable
work.
In June 2004, Kyle and wife Pattie opened the
Victory Junction Gang Camp, for terminally and
chronically ill children from across the country;
and along with driver Tony Stewart Kyle was named
“USA Weekend” Magazine's 2004 most caring athletes.
Kyle is a
featured analyst on TNT's NASCAR coverage and hosts
a variety of programs for the Speed Channel. He also
co-hosts a weekly radio show, "Fast Talkm" on the
Performance Racing Network.

Rafael Siegel, Kyle tells us about growing up in
racing and who he
feels is one of the best drivers currently racing.
As part of media tour, Kyle talks about the driver
safety and the Nationwide Series' DWD (Driving While
Distracted) campaign.
