Donny and Marie return for their 2nd
appearance on `Sidewalks`
Brother and sister Donny and Marie Osmond
have been performing all their lives. They are both
singers, actors, and dancers.
One of their earliest TV appearances was on The
Andy Williams Show, where Donny and Marie's
older brothers (Alan, Wayne, Merrill and Jay) were
regulars.
As the years progressed, they became successful solo
artists: Donny in the rock scene and Marie in the
country music world.
Their teaming and
popularity grew when the Osmond siblings became the
youngest primetime hosts of their own variety show
called Donny & Marie in the mid '70s. The duo
recorded several albums together prior to and while
starring in the hit TV series. The two reunited on
TV in 1998 in the syndicated Donny & Marie
daytime talk show.
In recent years, Donny has been a game show host, a
Broadway performer, a TV magazine correspondent (Entertainment
Tonight and The Insider) and actor in
such movies as "College Road Trip." Marie is a
successful doll designer and seller, a weight loss
pitchperson, and was a contestant on the fifth season of
Dancing with the Stars.
In this 2008 interview with SIDEWALKS host Cindy
Rhodes, Donny and Marie talk about their performing
style and their new variety show at the Flamingo in
Las Vegas.
