Miss America 2007 wants to help parents protect their kids on the internet

On June 11, 2006, Lauren Nelson was crowned "Miss Oklahoma." She then went to Las Vegas to represent her state in the grand daddy of all pageants. By the end of the night on January 29, 2007, her name was called out by host Mario Lopez and there she was...the new Miss America.

In this June 2007 interview, host Rafael Siegel interviews the 20-year old winner about winning the pageant, her goal to a be a singer, and her Personal Platform Issue: Internet Safety – Protecting Kids Online.

When she was 13, Lauren was cyberstalked by an online
predator. As part of her year of service with Miss America Organization, it is Lauren's goal to heighten awareness of protecting children on the Internet. She has partnered with Symantec with her campaign.
