Marcia! Marcia! Marcia! She's going
Country.
Maureen McCormick is best known throughout
the world as Marcia in the classic TV series, The
Brady Bunch.
Maureen's acting career started at age seven when
she won the lead role in the play, "Wind It Up and
It Breaks." Soon, she became a popular choice for TV
commercials and sitcoms, including ads for "Barbie"
and "Kool Aid" and a continuing role on the sitcom
Bewitched. Maureen made her feature film
debut in "The Arrangement."
From 1969 - 1974, she played the oldest daughter on
The Brady Bunch series, which was followed by
TV-movies and spinoffs. During the original TV
series, she also sang, recorded albums, and toured
with her co-stars as The Brady Kids.
Maureen started her solo singing career at the age
of 16 with her first solo release, "Little Bird."
Years later, Maureen revived her interest in singing
and recorded a popular country pop record, "When You
Get a Little Lonely," with many leading Nashville
musicians.
Some of her credits include starring as country
sensation Barbara Mandrell in the TV-Movie "Get To
The Heart: The Barbara Mandrell Story," "Skatetown
USA," "Return To Horror High" and "Texas Lightning,"
for which she wrote the song "Typical Day." She was
cast as a regular on Teen Angel and made
appearances on Herman's Head, Moesha
and The Single Guy. She recently appeared as
a contestant on VH1's Celebrity Fit Club.
In this 2008 interview taped two days before the
series premiere of CMT's Gone Country,
Maureen talks to Sidewalks host Rafael Siegel
about her early acting career. Additional, she tells
us about appearing as a celebrity contestant in
Gone Country, where a variety of celebrities are
given the opportunity to become the next big country
superstar.
ATTENTION MAUREEN
McCORMICK FANS:
Host Rafael Siegel planned to ask Maureen some of
your viewer questions. Unfortunately, our interview
window was cut short, and there was no time. Thank
you for all the questions. Maybe we will get to
interview Maureen again soon.
