He got his big break on Comedy Central's Premium Blend comedy series, and later his own comedy special for that network in 2004.

Demerti was also a writer for NBC's Late Night with Conan O'Brien. In 2005, he became a contributor on The Daily Show  with Jon Stewart.

In 2006, Demetri recorded a comedy CD/DVD called "These Are Jokes."

In 2009, he had a small role in the film, "The Rocker." Also in that same year, his sketch-variety series, Important Things with Demetri Martin, premiered on Comedy Central. The show has been renewed for a second season.

In this 2009 interview with SIDEWALK
