Carrie Ann on
`DWTS,` `Dance Wars,` and Breast Cancer Awareness


Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, the very busy Carrie Ann Inaba is a multi-talented dancer, actress, singer, choreographer, and television dance judge and host.

She is known to American audiences as one of the judges on Dancing with the Stars. She also choreographed on Dance War: Carrie Ann vs. Bruno.

Carrie Ann is a former correspondent for Extra and host of Breaking the Magician’s Code: Magic’s Biggest Secrets Finally Revealed.

She was also a popular singer in Japan in the '80s. In the early '90s, she was one of the "Fly Girls," the dancers on In Living Color

Carrie Ann was a choreographer for many television shows, such as American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance, Starting Over, American Juniors, The Swan, In Search of the Partridge Family, The Sexiest Bachelor in America Pageant, the Miss America pageant for five years, and many more. She has produced Broadway’s Latin and Ballroom dance spectacular “Burn the Floor.”

She has appeared in "Austin Powers Goldmember,” “Showgirls,” “Flintstones II,” “Monster Mash,” “Freak,” “American Virgin,” Boys and Girls,” and “Lord of Illusions.”

Carrie Ann has also created and developed a dance empowerment program for Leeza Gibbon’s Memory Foundation for Alzheimer’s patients and their caregivers.  She is currently creating the The Dizzy Feet Foundation with Katie Holmes and Nigel Lythgoe, which strives to make dance more accessible for underprivileged youth by providing scholarships and elevating and standardizing dance instruction nationwide.

As part of the media tour, she tells us her personal experiences with breast cancer and her support of the Give Hope initiative designed to spread awareness about breast cancer education, prevention, and early detection.
