Julianne Hough (2010) Interviewed by host Cindy
Rhodes, Julianne
talks about how she was discovered for the
Dancing with The Stars TV show and her first
country album. Additionally, she answers some fan questions.
As part of promotional tour, Julianne tells us about
a new series of on-line videos that feature her
“Girls’ Night Out” and reveal beauty secrets and
dance tips.
Mini-Biography
Born in Orem, Utah and raised in Sandy, Utah,
Julianne Hough is multi-talented. She is a
dancer, singer and actress.
She became well known as one of the pro dancers on
ABC's Dancing with The Stars. Julianne won
the competition twice with celebrity dancers
Olympics Gold metal speed skater
Apolo Anton Ohno
and Indy race champion Helio Castroneves.
In addition to dancer, her self-titled debut album
hit the Billboard Country charts at #1 and the
Billboard 200 at #3 in 2008, marking the highest
debut for a country artist since 2006. Her first two
singles from that album, “That Song in My Head” and
“My Hallelujah Song,” soared up the country charts ~
earning JULIANNE her first two 2009 Academy of
Country Music Awards for Top New Female Vocalist and
Top New Artist. She released a second album called
“The Julianne Hough Holiday Collection.”
Acting is on resume, too. Julianne is cast as
Georgia in the dramatic musical “Burlesque,”
co-starring Cher, Christina Aguilera, Stanley Tucci,
Eric Dane, Kristen Bell, and Cam Gigandet.
As a choreographer, Julianne collaborated with Gwen
Stefani on the singer’s “Wind It Up” video. In 2009,
Julianne starred in her first fitness DVD “Cardio
Ballroom,” the first in a series designed to
motivate exercise novices and enthusiasts on the
dance floor.
Julianne is also active in a range of philanthropic
endeavors, charities, and humanitarian efforts
~including the Susan G. Komen Foundation, St. Jude’s
Children’s Hospital, and Clothes Off Our Back ~ and
serves on the American Red Cross Cabinet.
