Up-close with Summer
Born in San Antonio, Texas, Summer Glau is a
popular actress, especially to fans in the sci-fi
world.
A classically trained as a ballet dancer, Summer
guest starred as a ballerina in a 2002 episode
("Waiting in the Wings") of the TV series, Angel.
That appearance led to a co-starring role as River
Tam in short-lived, sci-fi/western series,
Firefly, and later the big screen feature,
"Serenity."
In 2006, she had a recurring role as Tess Doerner in
The 4400.
In 2008, Summer played female terminator Cameron
Phillips for two seasons on Terminator: The Sarah
Connor Chronicles.
Other guest-starring TV roles include Cold Case,
CSI:, The Unit, Dollhouse, and The Big Bang
Theory (as herself). Additionally, she appeared
in movies "Sleepover," "Mammoth" and "The Initiation
of Sarah."
In this 2009 interview with SIDEWALKS host
Richard R. Lee, Summer talks about her work in
Firefly, her favorite moments playing a female
Terminator, and what future acting role she would
like. The interview is also known for the hugs
Richard got at the end of the interview, which was
