He is best known to the world as the green Hulk from TV's The Incredible Hulk, co-starring the late Bill Bixby. He appeared in the weekly TV series (1978-1982), as well as several follow-up TV-movies, including "The Incredible Hulk Returns." He also voiced the Hulk in the 1996 animated series.

Lou won several major titles in bodybuilding, including IFBB Mr. America and Mr. Universe.

Some of his movie credits include "Pumping Iron" (with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Franco Columbu), "Sinbad of the Seven Seas," and "Hercules."

Lou also appeared as "himself" as the neighbor of the Heffernans (Kevin James and Leah Remini) in TV's The King of Queens.
