Singer / Songwriter returns with first
Studio Album in
Nine Years
Born July 5, 1959 and grew up in Cleveland, Ohio,
singer/songwriter Marc Cohn rose to fame in
1991 with the hit single, “Walking in Memphis” from
his self-entitled album. Additionally, he won a
Grammy Award® for Best New Artist.
Marc experienced several life-changing events since
his debut album, including suffering from major
writer block for years. In 2002, he married ABC News
anchor Elizabeth Vargas (20/20). While
on tour in 2005, he was shot in the head during a
random attempted carjacking after a concert in
Denver. Then, several weeks later Hurricane Katrina
hit the New Orleans area. These events are what
enabled Marc to reconnect with his songwriting and
helped inspire the release of his Decca album, "Join
the Parade."
In this 2007 interview with host Cindy Rhodes, Marc
talks about his life-changing events, meeting his
wife, some of the songs from the "Join The Parade"
CD, and how he picks his music for a CD release.
