Born in Brooklyn, New York City, actor / singer
Corbin Bleu is best known as Chad
Danforth from the hit
film series, "High School Musical."
Since the age of 2, he has appeared in numerous
print ads and commercials. An avid dance performer,
Bleu studied under Debbie Allen for two years and
attended the prestigious L.A. County High School for
Arts.
Corbin also plays Izzy Daniels in the Disney
Channel Original Movie "Jump In!," where contributes
to the soundtrack.
He starred on the television series Flight 29 Down.
Other television credits include guest starring
roles on Hannah Montana, ER, The Amanda Show,
Cover
Me and Malcolm & Eddie.
On the big screen, Bleu starred in the feature film
"Catch That Kid" and co-starred in the feature films
"Galaxy Quest," "Mystery Men," "Family Tree" and
"Soldier." On the stage, his credits include the
off-Broadway production of "Tiny Tim is Dead" as
well as "Brothers of the Knight" with Debbie Allen,
"Footloose" and "Grease."
Corbin signed
with Hollywood Records and released his debut album,
"Another Side," in May 2007.
In his free time, he loves to dance, hip-hop, jazz,
salsa, play piano and sing. He lives in Los Angeles
with his parents and younger sisters, Hunter,
Phoenix and Jag.
In this
2008 interview with SIDEWALKS host Cindy
Rhodes, Corbin talks about the success of the "High
School Musical" franchise and some interesting
moments in meeting fans. As part of the promotional tour*,
Corbin
talks about the annual Take Your Whole Grain
Sandwich to School Day.
In
the special
bonus footage taped January 23, 2009, Corbin
and fellow "High School Musical 3" star Justin
Martin took part in the national nutrition
campaign to promote whole grain education in
school-age kids. One part of the campaign included a
unique video contest won by Walnut Elementary
Education Center in Turlock, California. Corbin and
Justin arrived by Sara Lee bread truck, served lunch
in the cafeteria and entertained students in a
special assembly. The school was also awarded a
$25,000 grant as the national winner of the Sara Lee
Soft & Smooth Lunchtime is Showtime Video Contest.
Eleven-year-old Bronwyn Arnold encouraged 120
of her classmates to star in the winning video
called "Fueled for Fun."
