Mini-Biography
Born in Glastonbury, Connecticut, Candace
Bushnell is an author and columnist.
In 1993, she began writing for the New York
Observer, where she wrote a column called "Sex and
The City" about her and her friends' personal dating
experiences. That column led to the basis of the HBO
series and feature films starring Sarah Jessica
Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia
Nixon.
Her book, "Lipstick Jungle," also became a TV series
starring Brooke Shields. Her other books include
"Four Blondes," "Trading Up," and "One Fifth
Avenue."
Candace was one of three judges for the reality
program, Wickedly Perfect. She hosted a live
weekly talk show on Sirius Satellite Radio called
Sex, Success and Sensibility. Additionally, she
writes "webisodes" for the Meredith Corporation and
articles for More magazine.
