The WWE superstar heads
for the big screen
He is known throughout the world as "Stone Cold"
Steve Austin, one of the main and top headliners
in the world of professional wrestling.
Austin, who was
born as Steven James Anderson, has wrestled for
promotions such as World Championship Wrestling (WCW),
Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) and World
Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). In 2003, Austin
retired from the ring due to injuries sustained
throughout his career, although he still make
occasional appearances on WWE.
In 2007, Austin
became an action film star, similar to other
wrestling players such as The Rock and John Cena,
with the film, "The Condemned." In the Lionsgate
movie, Austin plays Jack Conrad, a death-row
prisoner in a corrupt Central American prison who is
“purchased” by a wealthy television producer to take
part in an illegal reality game show. Conrad finds
himself trapped in a fight to the death against nine
other condemned killers from all corners of the
world.
In this
April 2007 interview, host Rafael Siegel
talks to "Stone Cold" about his early beginnings,
his favorite singer, an offer to participate on
ABC's Dancing With The Stars, and his
starring role in "The Condemned."
