Guest News: Fox Cancels Human Target, Breaking In, and others

Sad news to report…especially if you are fans of some of the Fox Network’s recent programs.

(l-r) Human Target stars: Jackie Earle Haley, Janet Montgomery and Mark Valley

United States network Fox has officially cancelled “Human Target,” “The Chicago Code,” “Lie To Me,” “Traffic Light,” and the recently premiered “Breaking In,” according to various news sources, including TV Line.

Some of the “Sidewalks Entertainment” staff are major fans of “Human Target,” especially since the TV project got to interview the producers and many of the stars of the adventure series, including leads Mark Valley and Jackie Earl Haley – twice. At the recent WonderCon 2011, creator/host Richard R. Lee had an opportunity to talk to executive producer Matt Miller about Fox picking up “Target” as a possible mid-season, 13-episode run for its third year.

Host Maaika Westen interviewed the cast of “Breaking In” (Christian Slater, Odette Annable, Bret Harrison, and Alphonso McAuley) in April, just a couple of days before that program’s premiere. The comedy series had respectable ratings following the network’s hit, “American Idol.”

All of the shows above were on the “bubble” for Fox. Many assumed a couple would be renewed, like crime dramas “The Chicago Code” and “Lie to Me,” since these two shows are scheduled to repeat in the summer lineup (sadly “Target” was missing on the programming list). As of May 10, 2011, all of the shows were dropped.

Tell us how you feel.
