Filmmaker talks about award-winning Environmental Thriller

Sidewalks host Cindy Rhodes interviews filmmaker, director and writer Rob Stewart about his film, "Sharkwater."

Hoping to undo the damage of “Jaws” and decades of sensationalized headlines painting sharks as bloodthirsty monsters, Rob Stewart and his crew spent five years across 15 countries to capture footage of one of nature’s most misunderstood creatures. During his journey, Rob faces corrupt governments, mafia rings, pirate battles, bogus attempted murder charges, and even a skin-eating disease.

Considered an ocean-going “Inconvenient Truth,” the film has walked away with top film festival awards for best documentary.
