On Thursday, October 18, 2001, Sidewalks
Entertainment's co-host / producer Richard R.
Lee, videographer William Hodgson and segment producer
Gary Simmons (KOOX radio D.J. Scary Gary) attended Maxim
Magazine's Something Wicked Halloween Party in San
Francisco, CA.
Held at Club N.V., the spooky and wild event was a special Halloween
costume bash benefiting The Guardsmen, a local San Francisco Bay
Area charity, and The United Way's September 11th fund.
Sponsored by Maxim, Amstel Light and FlixMix Productions, hundreds
of people in outrageous costumes were on hand for a night of
live entertainment, dancing, food and drink. Underground rock
group gODHEAD (left) performed and actor Robert Englund
made a special appearance. Actress Jolene Blalock (Subcommander
T'Pol on TV's Enterprise series), who was Maxim's
covergirl for the October 2001 issue, was also there enjoying
the party.
Englund, who is best known to moviegoers as the evil
knife-loving Freddy Krueger from the numerous Nightmare on
Elm Street feature films, gave Sidewalks an exclusive
interview, as well as a sneak peek of "Boogeymen,"
a new documentary chronicling the scariest villains to ever
appear on film, such as Jason (Friday The 13th), Chucky (Child's
Play), Leatherface (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) and
Englund's own Freddy. Englund gives audio commentary in
the FlixMix DVD.
Sidewalks would like to give special
thanks to Club N.V., Laura Shinn of Maxim Magazine, and Henry Eshelman and
Amanda Gruder of BWR Promotions for setting up Englund's
interview and Sidewalks' behind-the-scenes pass.
