Sidewalks welcomes a new
associate producer for the
next phase of the expanding TV show and
production company
In 1997, RaeShawn K. Williams began her professional career in the music industry. She started out as the receptionist for Concord
Records, which was based in Concord, CA. After a year, she
was promoted and became an Executive A/R Assistant. She assisted the President and Executive Vice President and stayed until
the jazz record label moved to a new location in Beverly
Hills, CA.
In her position at Concord Records, RaeShawn corresponded with every artist on the label,
including Sheila E., Poncho Sanchez,
Pete Escovedo, and many others.
Additionally, RaeShawn compiled songs for upcoming albums, did artist payroll, acted as a fee negotiator on
various projects, and booked rehearsal halls and recording sessions. She also was the production coordinator for
Nnenna Freelon's "Tales of Wonder" and
John Patitucci's "Communion"
CD.
RaeShawn has always had a desire to pursue her dream of becoming a business owner, as well as having a business that dealt with music. RaeShawn has been involved in music since the age of five whether it was playing recorder, clarinet, piano or singing in the glee club at school or her
church gospel choir. In 1996, RaeShawn received her certificate from Los Medanos College, where she studied music theory, recording/engineering and songwriting.
For the latest version of the Sidewalks
series, RaeShawn will be an associate producer,
where she will be booking guests and assisting
the management staff in the creative direction
of the program and the company's other media
projects. She will also be appearing
in-front-of-the-camera in various
segments.
