Introducing Michelle Marquez, a viewer intern who's
making her television debut on your entertainment TV
series
As Sidewalks
has done with a number of interns throughout its
cable run, the show is giving newcomer Michelle
Marquez an opportunity to appear in front of
the camera and work behind-the-scenes.
Currently a student studying broadcast and journalism
at San Francisco State University, Michelle's
goal is to be a celebrity interviewer. She came
to the right place.
In
January 2004, Michelle discovered Sidewalks
one
night by flipping channels and catching one of
our episodes. She was surprised by the national celebrities
that were appearing on the locally-produced San
Francisco Bay Area series. She called the show
to inquire about the program's internship and
her desire to interview the stars of
Hollywood.
While she is waiting for her chance to go
one-on-one with the stars, Michelle is learning
some of the behind-the-scene business that comes
with producing a show like Sidewalks at a
regional station. Meanwhile, she is shadowing
the videographers and experiencing non-linear editing,
which will help her understand what it will take
to produce a final package for air. Thus,
helping the young host to be better prepare with
her forthcoming celebrity interviews on the
latest broadcast editions of Sidewalks.
In April 2004, Michelle, who has extensive dance
experience ranging from tap, jazz ballet and
hip-hop, became a member of the The 2004 Oakland
Raiders Cheerleading squad, The
Raiderettes. She is one of the forty
women who are called Football's Fabulous
Females. In December 2004, Michelle was selected as Rookie of the
Year.
